Russell SpottedBull, a Nanaimo Unique Kids Organization student, presents Brenda Shaw, of the Mid-Island Co-Op funds allocation comittee, with a piece of his artwork as thanks for a $1,000 fuel sponsorship to keep NUKO's Variety Club van on the road. Supplies for SpottedBull's creation were donated by the Coastal Community Credit Union.

Debbie Gallant finds inspiration in her 14-year-old son, Kevin.

"He changed my life and made me who I am today and I feel like he's made me a better person. He gives me so much strength and courage and he makes me appreciate so much more and what's really important in life is giving back," she said.
